THE CENTRIGHT WORLDVIEW: An Enlightened Approach to Politics
Content last updated: August 25, 2023
Welcome to my web site, Centright, at centright.com. My name is Arthur Wiegenfeld. I live in New York City.
There is a saying in the business world that you don’t have a business until you have a sale. To make a sale, one must use the acronym “KISS”: “Keep it short and simple.” Republicans now have an opportunity to both develop a more coherent philosophy and reach out to potential new supporters. We can combine (a) traditional conservative and libertarian principles such as limited government with (b) those of the political center now abandoned by the Democrat Party and (c) the innovations introduced by major successful Republican politicians to create a four-point philosophy that is enlightened and consistent with both nature and human nature and therefore grounded in reality.
Central to the creation of this site is my belief that major institutions are failing, and that the most important conflicts in our society are class based. This is not a candidate site. This viewpoint is independent of who runs for national or state office. It is a blueprint for a long term coherent political philosophy.
I seek feedback on my ideas, which are for discussion. There are dozens of ideas, many of which are original. And it only takes one or a handful of new policies to favorably impact society.
I call this synthesis the Republican “Centright” view, where Centright is a two-syllable shortening of “center right.” There are only four general principles needed to encapsulate this worldview, which is about the maximum number of general principles most individuals can process. Later, I point out how they can be reduced to a business card format. After realizing how sensible and concise these are, (and that our opposition favors the exact opposite of these), Republican prospects should be ready to explore the positions they find relevant in greater detail.
The Four General Principles are:
I. Individual Rights,
II. Depoliticized Science and Analysis,
III. Economic Dynamism and
IV. A Balanced Foreign Policy
The links to each of these pages, with the associated capsule summaries, additional pages and an index are specified at the bottom of this page under the caption "The Links Are Below With Explanations."
In addition, in most cases a horizontal link menu will also appear across the top of each and every page with an abbreviation, to provide an alternate way to navigate around the site. If you don’t see the horizontal link menu, you will probably see three horizontal lines in the top right of each page, on which you can click to also display the links. These bars are called a “hamburger” menu and may result from web pages being reduced in size by small machines and/or certain email servers.
THE LINKS ARE BELOW WITH EXPLANATIONS
Please click directly on one of the links below. If you have read the explanations provided you can use the menu above.
Individual Rights (abbreviated “Rights” above)There has been a substantial reduction in civil liberties, one illustration being the attempt to criminalize parents who demanded to provide input to school committees. In addition, longstanding government practices and institutions endanger liberty as well.
Depoliticized Science and Analysis (abbreviated “Science” above)Increasingly, we see that government agencies do not follow science, but politics. And they are not competent in data analysis, one illustration being COVID. Citizens find it increasingly difficult to locate factual well-reasoned information in science, economics and politics.
Economic Dynamism (abbreviated “Economics” above)Conservatives and centrists have long recognized economic development and expansion as critical to improving the lives of Americans, but this is even more important as the Republican party has increasingly become the party of the middle class. A Balanced Foreign Policy (abbreviated “Foreign Policy” above)This page advocates full participation in international issues, as long as other nations contribute to the effort. At the same time, we must avoid excessive foreign entanglements, particularly unnecessary wars. ㅤ Maximizing the Benefit (abbreviated "Maximizing" above) This page provides the seven most critical suggestions for maximizing the benefits from this site and minimizing the time to obtain results. ㅤList of Topics/Catalog (abbreviated “Index” above)This link provides a list of the four major topics and all subtopics.
Legal (abbreviated “Legal” above)This contains both a Disclaimer and a Copyright Statement.
Contact/About Me (abbreviated “Contact/About Me” above)
